Abstract :
This paper presents a new position control scheme of traveling wave type ultrasonic motors. It is necessary for quick and precise position control to control both phase difference and driving frequency which takes account of frictional force control. This control system is based on an adaptive control for positioning and is able to compensate speed characteristic variations on ultrasonic motors. The effectiveness of this control scheme is demonstrated by experiments
