Abstract
A novel procedure to characterize the dynamic temporal response in multimode fiber under vibration is presented which reveals new information otherwise unavailable when measurement is collected statically. The methodology is compatible with current industrial standards differential mode delay and modal noise measurement. This promises to provide important information relevant to the design of adaptive electronic disperson compensation for multimode fiber based optical networks.
