Abstract :
The toponym information exists in all walks of life, and it is also indispensable in the administration. This paper constructs Chinese toponym ontology model to express different areas of toponym information based on SUMO with toponym and spatial geography research, referencing classification standard of China. This model can describe toponym evolution, toponym spatial relationship and toponym-based administrative regions. With this model as knowledge representation model, spatially querying and reasoning can be realized in the toponym search engine. Finally, a search engine as an application of this toponym ontology is given.
