Abstract :
The work presented in this paper is a part of the pan-European RACE II/ATDMA project which aims to study the features planned to be implemented in the next generation mobile telecommunication systems such as UMTS. A key part of the project is to build a couple of real time test beds to demonstrate the selected transport and control techniques in the framework of time division multiple access. This paper concentrates on the high frequency (RF) pat of the test bed. First a brief overview of the project background and goals is given. Then an overall test bed architecture is summarized followed by a presentation of the most important RF requirements. Finally the RE part is presented at the block diagram level.
