Abstract
A very efficient approach to increase the quality of service (QoS) and capacity of wireless communication systems is to control the transmit powers. The existing power control schemes are mostly designed for power adjustment in environments where the channel is varying slowly with time. However, these methods fail to properly adjust the transmit powers when the channel variations are fast. In this paper an adaptive distributed power control algorithm is proposed to enhance the tracking and convergence ability for fast time varying wireless environments. This algorithm predicts the channel responses and adjusts the transmit powers using only the local information.
