Abstract :
Looking through display products like MicroOptical, Microvision, etc. which are popular in the wearable computer community, to our knowledge, none of them are wireless. A wireless display is more convenient for the user. This feature will enable the user to put it on and take it off as and when he requires on the move. This paper reports the design and implementation of a wireless display system for a wearable computer. We have selected a wireless version of ´Personal Monitor´ eyeglasses whose transmitter and receiver are efficient but are a bit bulky and not suitable for our application. Our contribution is to reduce the size and volume of the existing transmitter and receiver, at least by ten times. The proposed system can display signals from both VGA and analog video sources. The size and power consumption of the system are satisfactory and suitable for our wearable computer system. It can also be used by other systems and applications with minor modifications.
