Abstract :
High frequency technology requires the characterization of the circuit interconnections as transmission lines. A Finite Element Method (FEM) based software package is presented for the electromagnetic analysis of inhomogeneous anisotropic arbitrary shaped mutticonductor transmission lines. A self-adaptive mesh procedure ensures results accurate to a predetermined degree. Both quasi-static (second order Lagrange interpolation) and dynamic (an edge based approximation) approaches are employed. Several postbroeses provide frequency dependent parameters useftul for circuit design. Discussion of the meaning of the different cireuital parameters is also included. Comparison of obtained results with those ptovided by other methods and authors shows the accuracy and flexibility of the present package.
