Abstract
The application of the block Jacobi method to piecewise-linear analysis of DC diode-transistor circuits is discussed. The problem of convergence of the method is considered in detail. Sufficient conditions guaranteeing the convergence of the iterative process to a unique solution for each initial guess are formulated. Some weaker conditions relating to the solvability and computation of the circuits are developed. The efficiency of the block Jacobi method is analyzed. The method has been tested and compared with other well-known algorithms of piecewise-linear analysis, such as J. Katzenelson´s (1965) and Newton-Raphson´s algorithm. Some advantages of the method are indicated and suggestions concerning the computation process are made. Several numerical examples are presented.<>
