  • Abstract
The development of a system able to detect and track moving people is described. Given a sequence of time-varying images, the goal is to count the number of people crossing a counting line. A motion detection module first determines whether any person has entered the scene; a tracking module combining prediction and matching then follows people until they reach the counting line. The efficiency of the proposed approach is illustrated and assessed using sequences of images taken in a real environment
