Abstract :
This work presents a performance analysis that minimises the possibility of experiencing a handover delay when a user or a group of mobile nodes (MN) initiate a handover request to a heterogeneous overlay network. More specifically this refers to a handover from a boundary cell of Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) network; towards an overlaying digital video broadcast-satellite (DVB-S) cell.
