  • Abstract
    XDue to the rapid change of advanced computer technology and prompt delivery of information, teachers feel the increasing need of professional development to support and improve their performance, though they are often loaded with various duties and responsibilities. The purpose of the study is to introduce teachers Electronic Performance Support System (EPSS), an online professional development tool, which can keep them updated and provide them with the latest resources and immdeidate support. Four teachers in a senior high school in the US were interviewed and their classes were observed. Four themes emerged from the data: (1) teaching, (2) support, (3) methods of instruction, and (4) EPSS. The findings reveal that professional development is a necessary on-going activity for not only beginning but also experienced teachers. Based on the participants´ needs, they suggested various features to be embedded into the EPSS system.
