  • Abstract
    A mathematical method is derived that allows the fast and accurate computation of the specific absorption rate (SAR) induced inside a plane geometry fat-muscle tissue by exposure to shortwave diathermy induction coil. A closed-form expression for the SAR distribution is provided starting from the exact integral representation for the electric field generated by a loop located above a two-layer medium. Numerical results are presented and compared with the data provided by the zero-order model based on the quasi-static field assumption.
