Abstract :
A robust array beamformer design method using power minimization is proposed. A set of linear constraints is obtained to ensures that a desired look-direction response of the processor over a frequency band of interest can be closely approximated. Furthermore, the statistical spectrum of the target signal is exploited in the new method to reduce the number of linear constraints if the statistical spectrum is known a priori. This is possible in many applications, such as in a microphone array application where the statistical spectrum of speech is known a priori. This method also provides theoretical support for the deviation of the linear constraints by using array calibration data. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
