Abstract :
This paper deals with the performance evaluation of the code division multiple access/generalized processor sharing-dynamic weights (CDMA/GPS-DW) scheme with and without preemption of tasks for multimedia traffic, in cellular mobile systems. Priority is given to financial transaction calls over the other services (video, voice, and data-WWW service), that is, the right to preempt the service of WWW-data is given to financial transactions. In addition, admission control guarantees the required signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for multimedia traffic. Computer simulations are proposed to study the system performance under criteria such as delay and throughput.
