  • Abstract
The patterns and fundamental-mode port-to-port isolation of a pair of linearly-polarized 18-40 GHz horn antennas mounted in a cross-polarized configuration on a circular platform is studied, and compared to the case of a single aperture center-mounted. The first configuration is one where the apertures are mounted along the platform centerline, and the apertures are moved off the centerline in the second configuration. It is found that despite fabrication errors near the radiating aperture causing a break in symmetry, the centerline-mounted configuration has over 50 dB isolation, which is an acceptable level when both apertures are transmit-only. The broadside gain and WoW of the two configurations were found to differ by less than 1 dB.
