Abstract :
This paper 1 investigates the theory involved in the electromagnetic propagation and proposes an enhancement of the Ikegami Model, in order to remove existing limitations in frequency by extending its validity for modern scenarios that involves micro and pico cells. The use of the enhanced model is then illustrated in the prediction of the electric field in various operational conditions for technologies that works up to 6 GHz. The reformulated model considers various parameters of propagation such as the radiation pattern of real antennas and surrounding architecture in the propagation environment, as well a line-of-sight propagation in presence of obstacles.
