Abstract
One of the most common problem related to substation design and engineering is maintaining of clearances required by standards for particular value of basic insulation level (BIL). In some cases this problem can´t be solved without the use of insulating materials. Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) Co. is maintaining a 138 kV metal-enclosed isolated phase (ISO-phase) bus system at Newark switching station. PSE&G Co.´s application experience of 35 kV heat-shrink insulation in the 138 kV system is presented
