Abstract :
A multi-axis simulation table (MAST) is a common type of hydraulic test rig used for vibration testing. Individual position control of each actuator is often used in practice, but this leads to axes which are coupled and controllers which are difficult to tune due to the apparent variation in plant dynamics. A modal control approach is described in this paper, and simulation results demonstrate its effectiveness.
