Abstract :
Multi-band coplanar waveguide-fed printed inverted-F antennas (PIFA) with double folded slot (DFS) transmission line is proposed in this paper. The proposed antenna resonant at GSM 0.9 GHz/1.8 GHz, long term evolution (LTE), wireless communication bands covering 1.47 GHz to 1.5 GHz and from 2.4 GHz to 2.7 GHz, industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) 2.45 GHz and other wireless communications applications. Multi-band behavior is achieved by loading folded slots CPW-fed with PIFA. The design of a DFS transmission line is first illustrated, which consists of two folded-slot elements with strip length of one guide wavelength and fed from one side using a coplanar waveguide transmission line. Then PIFA antenna with DFS to increase the number of resonant modes of the antenna. The DFS loaded with PIFA radiators also possess the properties of good performance, compact size, low profile, and low cost. Hence, they are suitable for implementation in wireless applications.
