  • Abstract
    An exact expression for the bit error rate of the simple transmit diversity (STD) scheme in [S. M. Alamouti, Oct. 1998] with spatially correlated Rayleigh fading and channel estimation errors is derived. Channel estimation errors result in an irreducible BER floor whereas spatial correlation by itself does not. A performance comparison of STD and maximal ratio combining is provided.
