Abstract :
This paper presents a CDMA closed-loop power control (CL PC) scheme with a multi-step linear autoregressive (AR) predictor for time-varying fading channels. The proposed method effectively compensates multiple power control group delays and provides significant performance gains over nonpredictive CLPCs as well as conventional predictive CLPCs with one-step linear predictor. For noisy fading prediction, adaptive tracking method like least mean squares (LMS) is more robust than fixed tracking method like least squares (LS) or minimum mean square error (MMSE) but LS is also a good alternative with its lower complexity and comparable performance as LMS
