Abstract :
Kinematic gait data is commonly used in clinical research study. Doctors or physicians usually utilize it for diagnosis of movement disordered diseases. This paper presents an automated diagnosis system using gait data to classify patients into three groups: Normal, Sick/Knee Osteoarthritis (OA), and Sick/Parkinson´s disease. The proposed system is based on a decision tree induction. The experimental results show that it does not only give a promising classification performance, but also provides a good reason along the prediction.
