Abstract :
This paper models and analyzes theoretically the swell effect in the polarimetric brightness temperature at L-band. A two-scale model has been implemented to compute the emissivity of the ocean surface characterized by a sea surface spectrum. The total spectrum is a combination of the wind generated spectrum and a low-frequency narrow-band Gaussian swell spectrum. The dependence of the predicted emissivity at L-band with swell parameters has been studied and the conclusions are enclosed in this paper.
