Abstract :
The Slovenian Institute of Quality and Metrology (SIQ) has built some high value standard resistors with values up to 1 G/spl Omega/. They were used for calibration of measurement instruments that use an analog integrator technique to measure resistance. The standard resistors were made of commercially available elements and with our design. Due to the very good results on this project the decision was made that a 100 M/spl Omega/ resistance transfer standard was built. SIQ needs this resistance transfer standard to achieve traceability up to 1 G/spl Omega/. Our interest is to build a good low price resistance transfer standard which will be accessible for a great number of metrological institutes. From first contacts with other National Metrological Institutes in Europe it was noticed that there is an interest in such a standard. Therefore we have proposed a new EUROMET project, which is already agreed upon.
