  • Abstract
A cost effective, miniature, Doppler wind lidar system based on atmospheric scattering from aerosols is presented. The initial design and theory of this instrument will be discussed. A method for minimizing the systematic error resulting from the component of the return signal that is backscattered by the atmospheric molecular constituents is also briefly described.
