Abstract :
High-purity chalcogenide glasses and fiber draw processes enable the production of high-quality mid-infrared (mid-IR) fibers for 1.5–10 μm transmission. Multimode and single-mode mid-IR fibers with low-loss (<0.1dB/m) and high tensile strength (>20kpsi) show high-power transmission.
