Abstract :
This study compares the earnings of U.S.- and Asian-educated Asian immigrant engineers of various nationalities as well as relative to U.S.-born, U.S.-educated whites and Asian Americans. Results confirm internal differences among Asian immigrant engineers and lend support to region-specific human capital theory regarding the influence of economic status of and the use of English in the country of origin on earnings of immigrant workers.
