Abstract :
Multidimensional trellis-coded modulation (multi-D TCM) is applied to direct sequence spread spectrum multiple access DS/SSMA system in a Rayleigh fading channel. New models for multi-spread and multi-correlation reception at the transmitter and receiver are proposed. Based these models we study the performance of multi-D TCM DS/SSMA systems in a Rayleigh fading channel. The simulation results show that the performance of DS/SS MA system is greatly improved by using multi-D TCM compared with TCM DS/SSMA systems. We believe that TCM will be useful in DS/SS mobile communications
