Abstract
Recent IED strategies have adapted to conventional metal detection equipment by avoiding the use of metal in the IED. Therefore, in this paper, extracted polarization features of buried dielectric objects which represents non-metallic IED targets, were examined using a forward-looking GPR (FLGPR) configuration. The fully polarimetric backscattered data for the buried targets were numerically simulated using the FDTD simulation in Agilent´s EmPro 3D EM software. Target features were calculated through post processing. Simulation results and extracted features of dielectric targets in FLGPR configuration will be presented in this paper.
