Abstract :
A texture encoder based on MPEG-4 encoding and decoding protocol is proposed, which consists of the DCT/IDCT, Q/IQ, the intra-frame prediction and the scanning modules. The encoder is designed in terms of Verilog code and some simulations are carried out in tools of the VCS simulator. The experimental results show that the texture encoder designed in this paper can perform correct logic functions and can achieve a real-time encoding for MPEG-4 Core Profile.
