Abstract :
Multicasting protocols are widely used as efficient communication methods for group-oriented applications. However, the key management for such protocols remains a significant problem. In this paper, we propose a scalable, efficient, and secure group key agreement protocol for large and dynamic multicast systems. The proposed protocol is based on the use of bilinear mapping. The main advantage of our proposed protocol is the significant reduction in both the number of re-keying messages whenever a member joins/leaves, as well as the computation overhead for the members during membership changes. A preliminary security analysis for the protocol is also provided.
