Abstract :
The paper describes a technique to calibrate dual-polarization weather radar in the presence of a partial beam blockage. Radar reflectivity factor Z and differential reflectivity ZDR can be calibrated using an idea of self-consistency among Z, ZDR, and specific differential phase KDP for rain medium and polarization properties of dry snow and light rain.
