Abstract :
A scheme for the design of a QPSK modem for VSAT satellite communications is presented, where the baseband demodulator, based on the DSP algorithm, is quantized and implemented with software. The techniques of the quantized baseband demodulator, including the matched filters, synchronization, preamble processing, AGC and and AFC, are discussed in detail. The paper is helpful for the practically oriented engineer when designing quantized demodulators
