Abstract
Extraction of clouds from NOAA/AVHRR channel 4 data received at Syowa Station in the Antarctic was achieved. First, the image features were calculated by wavelet transform. Then, clouds were extracted by Mahalanobis classifier using the feature vectors. Twenty daytime scenes received in November 1988 were analyzed
