  • Abstract
    A new type of moving-coil Watt balance with a compact design is under construction at the Swiss Federal Office of Metrology (OFMET). Several key components of the system have been independently characterized. In this paper, the assessment of the magnet, the optical system for speed measurement and regulation, and the programmable Josephson voltage standard are reported.
