Abstract :
The first part of this paper gives a realistic torque model of a brushless DC motor based on magnetic scalar potential. This model can produce good results without the lengthy computational burden like finite-element methods. The second part discusses the application of this realistic torque model when designing a robust controller for this kind of motors.
