Abstract
This paper presents a shunt connected power electronics converter, interfacing a wind generator with a squirrel cage induction generator directly connected to the grid. The converter is able to regulate voltage, mitigate harmonics and control the power flow at the point of common coupling (PCC). The system is modelled and simulated in order to verify the control strategy response to fast power generation variations, typical of low-power wind system.
