Abstract :
From the perspective of information resources organization, classification is one of the most widely used methods, but the traditional method of enumerated classification has deficiencies. Therefore, the study of application of faceted classification in Web information organization has both highly practical and strongly theoretical significances. The purpose of classification is to provide a navigation environment in any of the media of knowledge, e.g. the enterprises´ knowledge portal. This paper discusses the application of faceted analysis in knowledge portal construction for the iron and steel enterprises. The architecture and interface model are built and characteristics of faceted classification system are concluded.
