Abstract :
Applying finite element program, changing the value of structure-layer parameters such as layer thickness and modulus etc and the wheelbase of wheel load, the axle-number coefficient in the axle-load exchange formula for rigid-base asphalt pavement is calculated in this text under the two different conversion guidelines of pavement deflection and stress under rigid base. Through analyzing the results, the recommended axle-number coefficient formula is given and comparisons are made with design methods of AASHTO and China.
