This study analyzes the influence of external environment and firm capability on the entry model choice of international joint ventures (IJV) versus wholly-owned enterprise (WOE) abroad. Our results show that host countries´ high risks and stubborn industrial barrels will lead to Chinese MNEs to prefer to choose IJVs; However, Factors from home country have little impaction on the behaviors of Chinese MNEs; Unlike the the MNEs from developed countries, Chinese MNEs with high R&D intensity are more likely to choose the model of cooperation. When using the model of international acquisition, Chinese investors like to acquire partial equities of the targets.
