Abstract :
Transformation of the teaching model entails a fundamental change of teachers´ role. This paper interprets the implementation of Computer- and Classroom-Based College English Teaching Model in Hebei University of Science and Technology, and then, based on the theories of mediation proposed by Feuerstein, Williams and Burden, analyses the teacher´s role as a mediator. It aims to help College English teachers get involved in students´ learning process effectively, develop their ability to use English, and at the same time guide them to learn how to learn with greater individuality, and promote their sustainability of English learning to the maximum extent.
