Abstract :
Due to the ever-increasing demand for higher downloading speed of data onto mobile communication devices, high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) has become an important research topic. The wide-band CDMA (WCDMA) radio interface offers various transport channels for data services and in this paper the high speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) is considered for the offering of web-browsing services. In this paper, different packet scheduling algorithms together with their effects on the performance of HS-DSCH are being investigated. Simulation results showed that the maximum carrier to interference ratio (max C/I) algorithm yields the best system performance in terms of overall network throughput, packet delay and fairness.
