Abstract :
For power system protection applications, a structure for a fuzzy logic-based decision-making system is presented. This system structure implements three essential functional modules: the fuzzification interface module (FIM), to represent the inexact information with fuzzy membership functions and to adjust the membership functions in different situations; the fuzzy decision module (FDM), to match the input measurement value and the membership functions and decide the rule firing length for the final decision about status; and the knowledge base module (KBM), to provide the necessary rules for the FIM and the FDM through the acquisition of the knowledge on the application domain
