Abstract :
A speckle noise filtering tool for SAR imagery based on constructivism is developed. Montessori Teaching Method is proposed as basis to develop this learning material that encourages high quality knowledge through experimentation. Attending to shown interest by students in heuristic methods and the dependence between students´ perceptions and the learning outcomes, the proposed software is designed with two operational modes. First, students study speckle in SAR theory, synthesizing and filtering speckle noise, and finally, they can apply the acquired knowledge to real problems in SAR imagery.
