Abstract :
A two dimensional model of forest based on a full wave approach, is developed to describe the interaction between a finite number of rows of trees and a VHF plane wave (20 MHz to 90 MHz). The trees are placed on a ground represented by a lossy medium. The evolution of the scattered electric field with respect to the geometrical parameters of the scene is analyzed, and the results are compared with those retrieved from a simple interferometric model. The case of an object hidden by the trees is also considered in view of detection applications
