Research on the Development and Modes of the Rural Information Services in China

This paper introduces the history and several typical modes of the Rural Information Service (RIS) in China; it also provides a review of related research produced by Chinese researchers and their overseas counterparts on rural information provision since the 1980s. Based on analyzing the existed problems , the suggestion on accelerating the development of rural information service in the future will be put forward. The research production gives support of decision making for the national agriculture government and the department concerned.
