Abstract
This paper presents a novel discrete-time sliding mode flow control algorithm for single connection ATM networks. The algorithm is designed in such a way that the closed-loop system stability and finite-time error convergence are ensured. Moreover, the presented algorithm guarantees no bottleneck node buffer overflow and full utilization of the available bandwidth. Performance of the control algorithm is verified by means of computer simulations.
