  • Abstract
    This paper considers multi-stage interference-cancellation receivers for DS-CDMA communications. The particular focus is on receivers employing partial parallel interference-cancellation which converge to the linear minimum-mean-square-error receiver as the number of stages increases. Our main contribution is the specification of a design rule for selecting the partial cancellation factor as a simple function of the system loading and the signal-to-noise ratio. Assuming the optimal cancellation factor is in use, we also determine the minimum number of stages required to achieve near-LMMSE performance
