Abstract :
Delay in MIPv6 and its extended protocols are researched in the process of handover. Delay exists in MIPv6 is much longer by analysis. Delay in FMIPv6, HMIPv6 and FHMIPv6 are decreased by about Is, 0.5s and 1.5s respectively compared to that in MIPv6. Moreover, NS-2 is utilized to make simulation evaluation. The simulation result indicates that delay in FMIPv6, HMIPv6 and FHMIPv6 are reduced greatly in comparison with that in MIPv6. At the same time, the number of packet loss during handover is cut down a lot.
