Abstract :
The design, construction and measurement of a medium bandwidth bandpass filter in the UHF frequency range implemented on a low dielectric constant microstrip substrate is described. A novel distributed filter layout is presented, together with a design procedure which includes synthesis, circuit optimization and electromagnetic analysis. Filter dimensions are much smaller than standard quarter-wave filter types. Physical parameters and manufacturing tolerances are considered in the design in order to meet design goals.
